Database 2: I backed up my database files to a CD-ROM and then copied them onto a different computer. But now I get error messages when I try to open the database. What's wrong and how can I fix it?

Answer: When you copy a file to a CD-ROM, the file inherits Read-Only attributes from the CD itself, even after the files are copied to the computer's hard drive.

To remove the read-only attributes, right-click each file, select Properties, and uncheck the Read-Only checkbox. Then try to open the database.
